Packing List

Seeing as all cycle travel blogs normally have packing lists and seeing as this is usually the first thing fellow cyclists check out, who are we to break with tradition?

The Medicine Department

Our first aid kit.In this kit we have malaria preventatives, malaria cures, anti poo, anti cramp, re-hydrates, pro-biotics, assorted bandages, wound cleaners, wound dressings, suture kit, various syringes, latex gloves, CPR masks, rennies, med lemons, lozenges, deep heat, votaren, arnica ice, cotton wool, swabs etc. Ridiculous, but you never know. On later trips we left out most of this kit.

The Kitchen

Here is our kitchen. The kettle fits inside the small pot which fits inside the big pot which sits in the frying pan. We have the MSR water purifier, the MSR whisperlight stove and 2 fuel canisters, the black folder has a chopping board and various knives and bottle opener. We have 2 steel plates, 2 foldable bowls, 2 metal cups, a flint and striker, a portable washing line, a mini braai rack, a stove windbreaker and lets not forget the kitchen sink (folding 10ltr bowl). Future trips saw us leaving the steel plates behind. We have still never used the water purifier.
The Tool Box

Our maintenance department. Spare chain, tubes, bearings, tool kit, brake pads, duct tape, wireties ,leather-man, multi tool, lubes, compass, spokes, repair kits, spoke tensioner and other bits and bobs.
